An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a welcoming and community-focused small animal practice in Berkshire.
You'll join an established first-opinion practice with a loyal client base, while benefiting from the support of a closely connected group of local practices and a nearby 24-hour hospital. This provides the continuity of working within your own practice alongside access to a much wider clinical network when needed.
The practice places a strong emphasis on development, with regular one-to-one meetings to discuss your caseload, wellbeing, career ambitions and progression. Part-time applications will also be considered.

The Role
You'll play an important role within the clinical team, with the opportunity to utilise and develop your nursing skills across a varied first-opinion caseload.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering nurse-led appointments
- Carrying out Schedule 3 activities
- Supporting Veterinary Surgeons with consultations, surgery and procedures
- Providing patient monitoring and inpatient care
- Managing admissions and discharges
- Delivering excellent patient and client care
- Maintaining high clinical, regulatory and operational standards
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider local clinical network
- Developing your experience through exposure to hospital-based and more complex cases
Rota
The role is available full time, with part-time applications also considered.
As part of the rota, you'll work:
- One 8-hour shift every fourth weekend at a nearby 24-hour hospital
- Weekend shifts alternate between Saturdays and Sundays
- Participation in the on-call rota
Facilities & Team
You'll join an established first-opinion practice that forms part of a closely connected group of five local practices, each supported by an experienced Lead Vet.
The wider group also benefits from the support of an experienced Partner, providing additional clinical and leadership expertise across the practices.
Complex cases can be referred to a nearby 24-hour hospital, providing access to advanced diagnostics, experienced hospital teams and a broader clinical network. Your regular hospital shifts also provide the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with more complex cases and further develop your nursing skills.
