An excellent opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established yet growing small animal practice in Lancaster, Lancashire. This role would suit an RVN who values work–life balance, enjoys a varied nursing role and wants to feel genuinely supported within a close-knit and experienced team.

• Weekend Rota: 1 in 4 Saturdays (Friday off following Saturday worked)

The Practice Environment
This is a long-standing small animal practice with deep roots in the local Lancaster community, operating from purpose-built, modern premises with excellent facilities and equipment. The practice is RCVS-accredited at GP level and holds multiple animal-friendly accreditations, reflecting a strong commitment to patient care and welfare.
The team is highly experienced, with a wide range of clinical interests including emergency and critical care, feline nursing, acupuncture, rehabilitation and massage therapy. Knowledge sharing and collaboration are strongly encouraged, alongside maintaining a positive and supportive working culture.
The practice is also entering an exciting phase of growth, with plans underway for the development of a second site.
The Role
This is a hands-on RVN role with a varied clinical workload and strong involvement in day-to-day patient care. Typical duties include:
• Nurse consults and clinics
• Theatre and anaesthesia monitoring
• Prep and ward nursing duties
• In-house laboratory work
• Supporting patient care from admission through to discharge
The role would suit an RVN who is confident in nurse consults and theatre work and enjoys being actively involved across all areas of practice life.
Working Pattern
A typical week is structured as follows:
• Monday: 8.00am – 6.30pm
• Tuesday: 8.00am – 6.30pm
• Thursday: 8.00am – 6.30pm
• Friday (3 out of 4): 8.00am – 5.30pm
• Saturday (1 in 4): 8.00am – 5.30pm
• Sundays: Closed
What We’re Looking For
• RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse
• Experience in nurse consults and clinics
• Confidence with anaesthesia monitoring and theatre duties
• Strong attention to detail and organisation
• Positive, team-focused attitude
• Desire to contribute to a supportive, collaborative environment

Salary & Benefits
• Salary: £27,378 – £31,434 per annum (up to 39 hours per week, DOE)
• Equivalent hourly rate: £13.50 – £15.50
