An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a busy 24-hour small animal hospital in Oxfordshire.
This is a particularly good opportunity for an RVN who enjoys hands-on hospital nursing and wants exposure to a high-volume, varied caseload, ranging from routine procedures through to orthopaedic surgery, complex soft tissue procedures and more challenging medical and surgical cases.
The hospital has a large, established nursing team and offers flexibility around working patterns, with full-time, three-day-week and part-time options available.

The Role
You'll be an integral member of the hospital nursing team, providing high-quality nursing care across a varied caseload.
The position provides plenty of opportunity to utilise and develop your clinical nursing skills, including:
- Nursing hospitalised patients
- Patient monitoring and ongoing care
- Theatre and surgical nursing
- Supporting routine and more complex surgical procedures
- Orthopaedic cases
- Complex soft tissue procedures
- Nurse-led appointments
- Schedule 3 activities
- Supporting consultations and diagnostic procedures
- Admissions and discharges
- Client communication
- Working closely with vets and the wider multidisciplinary team
Patient welfare and advocacy are a major focus of the position, so this would suit an RVN who particularly enjoys hands-on patient care.
Rota
The advertised position is primarily structured around 10-hour shifts, although there is considerable flexibility available.
Working patterns can include:
- Full-time hours across longer shifts
- 3 days per week
- Part-time hours
- Alternative flexible arrangements considered for the right candidate
This makes the position suitable for RVNs looking for either a full-time hospital role or a better balance around other commitments.

You'll be joining a busy 24-hour hospital with a large nursing team and a broad range of cases.
The caseload includes:
- Routine first-opinion cases
- Hospitalised patients

About You
You must be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.
The team is looking for an RVN who:
