An excellent opportunity has arisen for an RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon to join an established, Partner-led small animal practice in Bedfordshire from December 2026.
This position would suit a good all-round GP Vet who enjoys a varied first-opinion caseload and wants to work within an experienced and supportive clinical team. The role offers a 4-day working week with every Friday off, alongside strong clinical support and access to a nearby 24-hour hospital.

The Role
You'll work as a general small animal Veterinary Surgeon, managing a broad mix of first-opinion medical and surgical cases.
The practice is looking for a confident all-rounder who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and wants to contribute to the continued development of an established local practice.
Typical responsibilities will include:

First-opinion consultations

Routine surgical procedures

Medical and surgical case management

Developing individual treatment and care plans

Providing clear communication and continuity of care to clients

Working closely with the nursing and support teams

Maintaining high clinical, regulatory and operational standards

Sharing knowledge and contributing to the wider clinical team
Rota
The position offers a particularly attractive working week:

40 hours per week
-
4-day working week
-
Fridays off
-
Either 1 in 3 Saturdays across the local branches or 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital

Fair share of Bank Holiday shifts

Participation in an on-call rota supporting the 24-hour hospital may also be required
Facilities & Team
You'll be joining an established Partner-led practice with an experienced veterinary and nursing team.
The Partner has extensive experience in Emergency & Critical Care and also holds a postgraduate certificate in Small Animal Medicine, providing an excellent source of clinical support for more challenging medical cases.
The wider veterinary team also includes experience in clinical leadership and a Vet with a particular interest in surgery.

About You
You'll need to be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon and a capable first-opinion all-rounder.
You'll ideally be comfortable with:

Working collaboratively within an experienced clinical team
The practice is looking for someone who enjoys clinical variety and wants to become an active member of the team rather than simply working through their own caseload.
