Registered Veterinary Nurse | North London

A well-established small animal practice in North London is looking for an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its team on a full-time basis.

Offering a salary of £30,500 – £34,000 per annum, this is a hands-on clinical nursing role with plenty of opportunity to develop nurse-led services, utilise Schedule 3 skills and work across surgery, diagnostics and inpatient care.

The Role

This is a varied position where you'll be encouraged to make full use of your nursing skills rather than simply providing support to the veterinary team.

You'll play an important part in developing the practice's nursing services and delivering high standards of patient and client care.

Responsibilities will include:

• Running and developing nurse-led consultations
• Preventative healthcare clinics
• Carrying out Schedule 3 activities
• Supporting surgical procedures
• Assisting with diagnostics
• Inpatient nursing and patient monitoring
• Managing admissions and discharges
• Delivering excellent client communication and care
• Helping maintain high clinical standards and best practice
• Contributing to an organised and efficient practice environment

Rota

The role includes participation in the wider hospital rota:

• Full-time position
• 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital
• 2 Bank Holidays per year
• Approximately 2–3 weeks of on-call shifts per year
• TOIL provided for the on-call commitment

This provides the opportunity to gain additional hospital exposure alongside your regular first-opinion nursing role.

About the Practice

You'll be based within a community small animal practice in North London, with access to the additional resources and clinical support of a nearby 24-hour hospital.

The practice is keen to develop its nurse-led services and preventative healthcare offering, giving the successful RVN scope to take ownership of this area and help shape how nursing skills are utilised within the clinic.

About You

You'll need to be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for high-quality patient and client care.

The position would particularly suit an RVN who:

• Wants a genuinely hands-on clinical nursing role
• Enjoys running nurse-led clinics
• Is confident supporting surgery and diagnostics
• Wants to utilise and develop Schedule 3 skills
• Enjoys inpatient nursing and patient care
• Is proactive and comfortable contributing ideas
• Works well within a collaborative clinical team
