Registered Veterinary Nurse | Hertfordshire

A busy small animal practice in Hertfordshire is looking for an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its experienced team on a full-time basis.

Offering a salary from £30,500, this is a varied clinical nursing position with plenty of opportunity to use your skills across nurse-led clinics, inpatient care, surgery and Schedule 3 procedures. The practice also has an established exotics caseload, providing additional clinical variety.

The Role

You'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of nursing responsibilities and play an active part in delivering high standards of patient and client care.

Your duties will include:

• Running nurse-led appointments
• Schedule 3 procedures
• Supporting consultations and surgical procedures
• Patient monitoring and inpatient nursing
• Managing admissions and discharges
• Supporting the veterinary team with procedures
• Delivering high standards of client care
• Working collaboratively with the wider clinical team

The practice is particularly keen to build upon its existing client base and the expertise of one of its Vets who holds an Exotics certificate, making this an interesting opportunity for an RVN who enjoys a varied caseload or has an interest in developing their experience with exotic patients.

Rota

This is a full-time position.

There will also be a requirement to participate in:

• Weekend working
• Some Bank Holidays
• On-call duties

These commitments are shared as part of the wider hospital network.

Facilities & Team

You'll join a busy and established practice with three experienced Vets, including a certificate holder in Exotics.

The practice is supported by a nearby 24-hour veterinary hospital, providing additional clinical support and exposure to hospital-based care through the shared weekend, Bank Holiday and on-call rota.

About You

You'll need to be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys using their nursing skills and working as part of a collaborative clinical team.

The role would suit an RVN who:

• Is confident delivering high-quality patient and client care
• Enjoys nurse-led clinics and hands-on clinical nursing
• Is comfortable supporting surgery and procedures
• Wants to develop their nursing skills further
• Enjoys working within a busy first-opinion environment
• Has an interest in exotics or would welcome exposure to a broader caseload
