Registered Veterinary Nurse | Hertfordshire

A busy, well-established small animal practice in Hertfordshire is looking for an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its team on a full-time basis.

Offering a salary of £30,500, this is a varied nursing role combining hands-on clinical work, nurse-led appointments and patient care with the opportunity to work alongside and support the veterinary team.

The Role

You'll play an important part in the day-to-day clinical running of the practice, supporting the Vet while taking responsibility for your own nursing duties and nurse-led appointments.

Responsibilities will include:

• Running nurse-led clinics and appointments
• Carrying out Schedule 3 activities
• Supporting consultations, surgeries and procedures
• Monitoring and nursing inpatients
• Managing patient admissions and discharges
• Providing high standards of client care and communication
• Supporting the Vet with clinical and administrative tasks
• Liaising with other practices within the local network when required
• Working collaboratively with the wider clinical team

Rota

This is a full-time position and includes participation in the wider hospital rota:

• 1 in 6 weekends
• Shared Bank Holiday working
• Shared on-call duties

The weekend, Bank Holiday and on-call commitments support a nearby 24-hour veterinary hospital.

About the Practice

You'll be joining a busy high-street small animal practice in Hertfordshire with an established client base and links to other practices within the surrounding veterinary network.

The practice works closely with neighbouring clinics and a nearby 24-hour hospital, providing additional support when patients require ongoing or more intensive care.

About You

You'll need to be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with a commitment to delivering excellent patient and client care.

The role would suit an RVN who:

• Enjoys a varied clinical workload
• Is confident working as part of a veterinary team
• Wants to make full use of their nursing skills
• Is comfortable running nurse-led appointments
• Has good client communication skills
• Is organised and comfortable balancing clinical and administrative responsibilities
