Locum Registered Veterinary Nurse – ASAP – South Yorkshire

We are recruiting for a Locum Registered Veterinary Nurse to provide additional short-term support at a busy, well-equipped small animal practice in South Yorkshire.

The requirement has arisen due to unexpected sickness absence and is expected to last approximately 3–4 weeks, offering a good block of regular work for an RVN available immediately.

⏰ Weekday shifts: 9 hours
📅 Weekends: 1 in 4 – Saturday & Sunday
⏰ Weekend shifts: 6 hours per day
💷 Rate: Up to £25 per hour

🏥 The Practice

You'll be joining a modern, purpose-built small animal practice with an established multidisciplinary clinical team and excellent facilities.

The practice offers a varied first-opinion caseload with extensive diagnostic, surgical and inpatient facilities, providing RVNs with the opportunity to utilise a broad range of practical nursing skills.

There is already locum support in place, with this additional requirement arising specifically to help the team cover an unexpected period of sickness.

🐾 The Role

This is a varied clinical nursing position working alongside the existing veterinary, nursing and support teams.

Duties can include:

• Theatre nursing and surgical assistance
• Anaesthetic monitoring
• Inpatient and patient care
• Diagnostic support
• Laboratory work
• General clinical nursing duties
• Supporting vets with the day-to-day caseload

We're looking for a confident RVN who can integrate quickly into an established team and provide reliable cover for the duration of the booking.

With 4 days per week for approximately 3–4 weeks, this could be a good option for a local RVN looking for a solid short-term block of work.
