The Practice
This established small animal practice has a 3.5 Vet team and offers a friendly and supportive working environment with an established local client base.
You'll work alongside an experienced Partner with a keen interest in orthopaedics, providing access to additional clinical experience and support while still having the freedom to work cases up and develop your own areas of interest.
The practice encourages its vets to make full use of their clinical skills and offers a high level of autonomy. Whether your interests lie in surgery, medicine or developing a particular clinical discipline, there is scope to build your caseload and continue progressing professionally.
Facilities & Equipment
The practice is well equipped for a varied small animal caseload, with facilities including:
• Ultrasound.
• ECG.
• Dental suite.
• In-house laboratory.
• Laparoscopic equipment.
• Surgical and diagnostic facilities for first opinion cases.
• Access to a nearby 24-hour hospital for additional clinical support and more complex cases.
The Role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours across 4 days per week, providing a good balance between clinical exposure and time away from work.
The weekend rota is 1 in 6 weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital, offering the opportunity to work alongside a wider clinical team and gain exposure to a broader range of cases.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include a combination of consultations, surgery, diagnostics, treatment planning and ongoing case management.
You'll be encouraged to develop strong relationships with clients, work cases up appropriately and contribute to the continued development of the practice.
The Candidate
You must be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for providing excellent patient and client care.
You'll ideally be comfortable with general first opinion practice, including consultations and routine surgery, while enjoying working collaboratively within a supportive veterinary and nursing team.
The position would particularly suit someone looking for a practice where they can enjoy clinical freedom while still having experienced colleagues available for support and case discussion.
