An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a long-established, independent and RCVS-accredited veterinary practice in Northamptonshire.
Offering a salary of £13.50-£15.20 per hour (£28,080-£31,616 per annum based on a 40-hour working week), depending on experience , this is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced RVNs looking to join a friendly, supportive and progressive team. The Practice
This well-established independent veterinary practice has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining the personal approach that only an independent practice can offer. Operating across several sites throughout Northamptonshire, the practice combines the facilities and caseload of a modern Tier 3 veterinary hospital with the friendly atmosphere of a close-knit team.
The successful candidate will primarily be based within one of the practice's recently expanded branch clinics, while also supporting the hospital during weekend rotations. The practice is a recognised nurse training practice and places a strong emphasis on mentoring, collaboration and continuous professional development, making it an excellent environment for both newly qualified and experienced RVNs.
You'll work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team including Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Animal Nursing Assistants and Client Care colleagues, with support from experienced Head Nurses and certificate holders in Surgery and Medicine.

The Role
This is a varied and rewarding nursing role where you'll be encouraged to fully utilise your clinical skills across all aspects of first opinion practice, including:
- Nurse consultations.
- Schedule 3 procedures.
- Theatre nursing and anaesthesia.
- Surgical assistance.
- Inpatient nursing.
- Laboratory diagnostics.
- Diagnostic imaging.
- Emergency and critical care nursing.
- Preventative healthcare clinics.
- Client education and weight management clinics.
You'll work closely with the wider clinical team to deliver outstanding patient and client care while continuing to develop your own clinical skills and interests.
Rota & Work-Life Balance
This is a full-time position working:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
- 1 in 6 weekend rota.
- Primarily based at a branch clinic during the week.
- Weekend shifts based at the Tier 3 veterinary hospital.
- No routine night shifts, with overnight care provided by a dedicated night nursing team.
What We're Looking For
Applications are welcomed from both newly qualified and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses.

- RCVS registered (or eligible to register).

Salary & Benefits

- Monday to Friday working pattern with 1 in 6 weekends.
- £500 CPD allowance plus two paid CPD days each year.
