An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a long-established, independent and RCVS-accredited veterinary practice in Northamptonshire.
Offering a salary of £13.50-£15.20 per hour (£28,080-£31,616 per annum based on a 40-hour working week), depending on experience, this is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced RVNs looking to join a friendly, supportive and progressive team. With two permanent positions available, you'll be primarily based at either one of the practice's branch clinics or the main practice, with occasional flexibility to support across other sites when required. The Practice
This long-established independent veterinary practice has built an outstanding reputation for delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining the personal approach that only an independent practice can offer. Operating across several sites throughout Northamptonshire, the practice combines the facilities and caseload of a modern Tier 3 veterinary hospital with the friendly atmosphere of local branch clinics.
Two Registered Veterinary Nurse opportunities are available, with each role primarily based at either one of the practice's branch clinics or the main practice. While your main place of work will remain your allocated site, occasional flexibility to support colleagues across the wider practice is appreciated when required.
You'll be joining an experienced multidisciplinary team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Animal Nursing Assistants and Client Care colleagues. Supported by two experienced Head Nurses and a Nurse Manager, the practice offers a collaborative environment where mentoring, teamwork and professional development are actively encouraged.
As a recognised nurse training practice, education is at the heart of the practice culture, making this an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced RVNs looking to continue developing their clinical skills.

The Role
This is a varied and rewarding nursing role where you'll be encouraged to utilise your skills to their full potential across all aspects of first opinion practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Nurse consultations.
- Schedule 3 procedures.
- Theatre nursing.
- Anaesthetic monitoring.
- Surgical assistance.
- Inpatient nursing.
- Laboratory diagnostics.
- Diagnostic imaging.
- Emergency and critical care nursing.
- Client education and preventative healthcare.
- Weight management clinics.
- Nutritional advice.
- Puppy and kitten health checks.
Working alongside an experienced clinical team, you'll play an integral role in delivering outstanding patient and client care while continuing to develop your own clinical confidence and nursing skills.
Rota & Work-Life Balance
This is a full-time position working:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
- 1 in 6 weekend rota at the Tier 3 veterinary hospital.
- Primarily based at your allocated branch or the main practice.
- Occasional flexibility to support across other practice sites when required.
- No routine night shifts, with overnight care provided by the dedicated night nursing team.
