The Practice
This modern 24-hour veterinary hospital provides emergency, out-of-hours and advanced first opinion care to a large and varied caseload across London. As part of a wider network of practices, the hospital offers complete continuity of care, allowing clinicians instant access to patient histories, diagnostic results and treatment plans through integrated clinical systems.
The hospital is home to an experienced multidisciplinary team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses and dedicated overnight clinicians who work collaboratively to provide exceptional patient care throughout every stage of treatment. The varied emergency and critical care caseload offers excellent exposure to complex medical and surgical cases, creating an outstanding environment for Veterinary Surgeons with an interest in ECC.

The Role
This is a permanent part-time Lead Night Veterinary Surgeon position working an attractive 7 nights on, 14 nights off rolling rota.
Shifts run from 7:00pm until 9:00am, Monday through Sunday, with weekends and Bank Holidays only falling within your scheduled working weeks. This pattern offers an exceptional work-life balance, providing extended periods away from work while maintaining a rewarding and varied ECC caseload.
As Lead Night Veterinary Surgeon, you'll manage emergency presentations, inpatient care and complex overnight cases while providing clinical leadership to the overnight team. You'll oversee patient management, treatment planning, clinical handovers and continuity of care, ensuring the highest standards of patient welfare throughout every shift.
Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll support and mentor colleagues, encourage best practice, help maintain exceptional clinical standards and contribute to the continued development of the wider hospital team.
Please note that accommodation is not provided with this role.
The Candidate
You will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with strong Emergency and Critical Care experience and a passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care.
You'll be confident managing emergency presentations, medical and surgical inpatients and leading clinical decision-making overnight. Previous leadership or mentoring experience would be advantageous, as would a genuine enthusiasm for developing colleagues and maintaining the highest clinical standards within a busy hospital environment.
This role would particularly suit a Veterinary Surgeon looking to further develop their ECC career while enjoying a highly attractive rota and genuine opportunities for continued professional progression.
