The Practice
This established and modern small animal practice provides a high standard of first opinion veterinary care within a friendly, collaborative and supportive environment. You'll be joining a committed clinical team where patient care, teamwork and professional development are at the heart of everything they do.
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you'll play an integral role in shaping the clinical direction of the practice while mentoring colleagues, supporting clinical decision-making and helping to maintain exceptional standards of patient care. The practice benefits from strong collaboration with a nearby 24-hour hospital, giving clinicians access to advanced diagnostics, specialist expertise and referral support whenever required.

With close proximity to a leading 24-hour veterinary hospital, the location provides the perfect balance of community practice and advanced clinical support.
The Role
This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, offering an excellent combination of clinical leadership and hands-on veterinary medicine.
The weekend commitment consists of either 1 in 3 Saturdays or 1 in 6 full weekends at the nearby 24-hour hospital. Importantly, there are no out-of-hours responsibilities, allowing you to maintain an excellent work-life balance while benefiting from access to emergency and referral support whenever required.
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you'll lead by example, delivering exceptional clinical care through consultations and surgery while supporting the ongoing development of the practice team. You'll help drive clinical standards, mentor colleagues, encourage professional growth and work collaboratively with the wider Medivet network to ensure the highest standards of patient and client care.
The close relationship with the nearby referral hospital provides seamless access to advanced imaging, specialist expertise and complex case support, allowing you to confidently manage challenging cases while continuing to develop your own clinical interests.
The Candidate
You will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with solid first opinion experience and a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step into leadership or an existing Lead Vet seeking a supportive environment with access to advanced facilities and a wider clinical network.
