The Practice
This established 24-hour small animal hospital provides first opinion, emergency, inpatient and referral-level care, offering a varied and rewarding caseload across medicine, surgery and emergency care. The hospital is home to an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses and dedicated overnight clinicians who work collaboratively to deliver exceptional standards of patient care.
As a Hospital Veterinary Surgeon, you'll focus on the management and treatment of hospitalised patients, working closely with colleagues to provide continuity of care from admission through to discharge. The collaborative environment encourages clinical discussion, shared learning and professional development, making it an excellent setting for Veterinary Surgeons who enjoy managing more complex medical and surgical cases.

The Role
This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover position working as a dedicated Hospital Veterinary Surgeon within a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital.
You'll be responsible for the ongoing management of hospitalised patients, working closely with the wider clinical team to deliver outstanding standards of inpatient care. The role provides excellent exposure to a diverse medical and surgical caseload, allowing you to develop your clinical knowledge while working alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses.
Working within a hospital environment, you'll be involved in patient assessments, diagnostics, treatment planning, inpatient management and clinical handovers, ensuring seamless continuity of care and exceptional outcomes for patients and clients alike.
The Candidate
You will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care and excellent client communication.
You'll enjoy working within a collaborative hospital environment, be confident managing medical and surgical cases and thrive as part of a multidisciplinary team. This opportunity would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in hospital medicine, emergency care or complex case management who is looking to further develop their clinical skills within a well-equipped referral-supported hospital.
