The Practice
This established first opinion small animal practice has built an excellent reputation within the local community and offers a varied caseload across medicine, surgery and preventative healthcare. The clinic is purpose-built and equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, allowing the team to deliver a high standard of patient care.
You'll work alongside an experienced team of nurses and client care professionals while leading the clinical direction of the practice. The role offers genuine autonomy to influence clinical standards, mentor colleagues and help shape the future development of the practice, working closely with the Practice Manager to support both clinical excellence and continued growth.
The practice is fully supported by the wider Medivet network, including a nearby 24-hour hospital, providing access to advanced diagnostics, specialist expertise, emergency care and referral services whenever required.

The Location
Situated in the Muswell Hill area of North London, the practice enjoys an excellent location close to Wood Green, Southgate and East Finchley. The area offers an excellent blend of leafy residential streets, independent cafés, restaurants, parks and outstanding transport links into Central London, making it an attractive place to both live and work.
The Role
This is a permanent full-time role working a four-day week, with shifts of 9:00am to 7:00pm and a one-hour lunch break, together with participation in a 1 in 6 full weekend rota.
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you'll divide your time between delivering a high standard of first opinion medicine and surgery and leading the clinical team. You'll oversee case management, maintain clinical standards, mentor and develop colleagues and help drive continuous improvement throughout the practice.
Working in partnership with the Practice Manager, you'll also contribute to the ongoing development and commercial success of the practice, making this an excellent opportunity for someone wanting genuine influence over how a practice evolves.
The Candidate
You will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with at least four years' UK small animal experience and confidence in routine surgery, diagnostics and case management.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to take their first step into leadership or an existing Lead Vet seeking a fresh challenge within a supportive and well-resourced practice. You'll be a confident communicator with a passion for mentoring colleagues, developing clinical standards and delivering exceptional patient and client care.
