The Practice

This modern first opinion small animal practice forms part of a well-established independent veterinary group that has been providing high-quality veterinary care for more than fifteen years. Remaining proudly family owned throughout its continued expansion, the group has built an excellent reputation for investing in its people, practices and facilities while maintaining a genuinely supportive and collaborative culture.

Having opened in 2023, the practice continues to grow rapidly, experiencing impressive year-on-year expansion and establishing a loyal and expanding client base. This presents an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful and developing practice while helping shape its continued growth.

You'll be working alongside an experienced permanent Veterinary Surgeon together with dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurses and support colleagues. Although the role initially includes periods of sole charge, you'll have ongoing support from more than twenty-five clinicians and around one hundred colleagues across the wider veterinary group, together with regular input from experienced medical and surgical peripatetic teams.

The practice also benefits from visiting ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeons, allowing a broader range of procedures to be performed on site while providing excellent opportunities to further develop your own clinical knowledge and experience.

The Role

Applications are welcomed from experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeons looking to become part of a growing independent practice.

Both full and part-time opportunities are available. The full-time rota consists of a four-day working week together with participation in an every third Saturday morning rota. There are no Sunday, Bank Holiday or out-of-hours commitments, providing an excellent work-life balance.

Initially, this role includes shared sole charge responsibilities while supporting the continued growth of the practice. You'll work closely alongside another permanent Veterinary Surgeon, experienced nursing colleagues and visiting referral clinicians while also benefiting from the expertise and support of the wider veterinary group.

The varied caseload includes consultations, diagnostics, routine surgery, preventative healthcare and medical case management, allowing you to fully utilise and continue developing your clinical skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Professional development is actively encouraged, with generous CPD funding and ongoing support available for Veterinary Surgeons wishing to develop specific clinical interests or pursue further qualifications.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with excellent communication skills, strong all-round first opinion experience and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care.

You'll be confident with routine consultations and surgery, comfortable with periods of sole charge and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive veterinary team.
