An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Veterinary Surgeon to take clinical ownership of a brand-new, purpose-built small animal practice serving Feltham, Ashford and Sunbury. The Practice

This brand-new veterinary surgery has been purpose-built to provide a modern, calm and efficient environment for patients, clients and colleagues.

The spacious surgery will include:

• 8 consultation rooms.
• 3 operating theatres.
• Dedicated dental suite.
• Dedicated diagnostic imaging suite.
• Spacious preparation area.
• Modern inpatient wards.
• In-house laboratory facilities.
• Modern diagnostic and patient-monitoring equipment.

The practice will form part of an established independent veterinary group with a nationwide presence. The successful Head Vet will benefit from extensive operational and professional support while retaining genuine influence over the clinical direction and culture of the new surgery.

The practice is designed to support thorough diagnostic work-ups, excellent first opinion medicine and surgery and effective collaboration between the veterinary and nursing teams.

The Location

Located in the Feltham area, the practice will serve clients across Feltham, Ashford, Sunbury and surrounding West London and Surrey communities.

The practice benefits from convenient access to Heathrow, Hounslow, Twickenham, Richmond, Staines and Central London, together with excellent road, rail and public transport links.

The Role

As Head Veterinary Surgeon, you will lead the clinical team and take responsibility for clinical governance, team development and the strategic direction of the practice.

This is a hands-on role combining first opinion clinical work with leadership and management responsibilities. You will be involved in recruiting the founding team, establishing clinical standards and building strong relationships with clients and the local community.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Recruiting, leading and inspiring the veterinary team.
• Delivering high-quality first opinion consultations and surgery.
• Setting and maintaining clinical governance standards.
• Promoting evidence-based and diagnostic-led patient care.
• Coaching and developing Veterinary Surgeons.
• Supporting graduates and colleagues completing VetGDP.
• Working closely with the nursing leadership team.
• Leading clinical audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establishing effective clinical protocols and workflows.
• Building trusted relationships with clients and the local community.
• Contributing to the commercial and clinical success of the practice.
• Creating a positive, collaborative and supportive team culture.

Dedicated administration time is included within every shift to support leadership and management responsibilities.

About You

• MRCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
• Strong small animal GP experience.
• Confident across medicine, diagnostics and surgery.
• Previous leadership, mentoring or management experience.
• Passionate about developing colleagues.
• Comfortable taking responsibility for clinical governance.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Calm, proactive and confident under pressure.
• Motivated by the opportunity to build and lead a new veterinary practice.
