The Practice
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a well-established network of modern small animal practices supported by an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses and support staff. The practices enjoy a collaborative culture where knowledge is shared across the region, creating an excellent environment for professional development.
You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of first opinion cases while also benefiting from access to advanced referral services through a nearby 24-hour hospital. The region includes clinicians with interests in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging and cardiology, providing excellent opportunities to expand your clinical knowledge.
A dedicated veterinary buddy will also support your induction and ongoing development, ensuring you feel fully integrated across the region.

The Location
Covering practices across Hertfordshire and North London, this role offers an excellent mix of market towns, commuter locations and countryside, with easy access to London while benefiting from attractive rural surroundings. Excellent road and rail links make travelling between practices straightforward.
The Role
This permanent position offers the security of joining an established employer while providing the variety of working across several well-equipped practices.
Working 36 hours across four days per week, you’ll support practices with planned holiday cover and provide continuity across the region. The role includes a variable weekday off depending on business requirements, approximately 2 bank holidays, around 2 weeks of on-call cover annually, and 1–2 additional rotational shifts each year.
You’ll enjoy a diverse caseload across medicine and surgery, with many shifts involving sole charge, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys clinical autonomy while remaining part of a larger supportive network.
The Candidate
You will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with at least three years’ UK small animal experience.
You should be confident working independently in sole charge when required, comfortable performing routine surgical procedures and consultations, and adaptable enough to thrive across different practice environments. Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient and client care are essential.
