The Practice
This modern, purpose-built small animal practice has built an excellent reputation for delivering exceptional veterinary care within the local community. The team has created a welcoming and supportive culture where colleagues work closely together, enjoy coming to work and are encouraged to develop both personally and professionally.
You’ll be joining an experienced team of four Veterinary Surgeons, five Registered Veterinary Nurses, three Client Care Advisors and a Practice Administrator, all led by an experienced Practice Owner who is committed to supporting colleagues and maintaining high clinical standards.
The practice provides a varied first opinion caseload, allowing Veterinary Surgeons to work cases up thoroughly while delivering continuity of care. As a Silver ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic and Rabbit Friendly Practice, the team is committed to providing the highest standards of care for all patients.

The Location
Located in the Derby area, the practice benefits from excellent transport links with easy access to Nottingham, Burton upon Trent, the A38 and the beautiful Peak District National Park. The area offers an excellent combination of city amenities, countryside and convenient commuting, making it a fantastic place to both live and work.
The Role
This flexible part-time position offers between 15 and 30 hours per week, with flexibility around full or part working days. Ideally, the successful candidate will be available to work Fridays and participate in a shared 1 in 3 Saturday rota.
You’ll enjoy a varied first opinion caseload across medicine and surgery, with opportunities to work cases up to a high standard while providing exceptional continuity of care. There will be some sole charge responsibilities, making this role well suited to an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is confident working independently when required.
The practice actively encourages career progression and supports Veterinary Surgeons wishing to pursue certificates or further develop their clinical interests.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with strong medical and surgical skills and confidence working within a busy first opinion environment.
You’ll be an excellent communicator who enjoys building lasting client relationships, working collaboratively with colleagues and delivering exceptional standards of patient care. Confidence with routine surgery, consultations and case work-ups is essential, together with a genuine passion for animal welfare and clinical excellence.
