An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established first opinion practice in the Nottingham area. The Practice
This modern, purpose-built small animal practice has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality veterinary care within the local community. The practice combines excellent clinical standards with a friendly and supportive working environment, creating a culture where colleagues are encouraged to develop their skills while providing exceptional care to patients and clients alike.
You’ll be joining an experienced team of 3.5 Veterinary Surgeons, three Registered Veterinary Nurses, two Veterinary Care Assistants and four Receptionists who work closely together to provide a high standard of first opinion veterinary care. The leadership team has extensive clinical and practice management experience and actively encourages collaboration, professional development and continuous improvement.
The practice offers a varied medical and surgical caseload, providing excellent opportunities to develop clinical interests while working alongside experienced colleagues.

The Location
Located in the Nottingham area, the practice enjoys an excellent position with easy access to the city centre, surrounding suburbs and major road networks, including the M1. The area offers an excellent mix of city amenities, green open spaces, restaurants, shopping and leisure facilities, making it an ideal location for both work and lifestyle.
The Role
This full-time position involves working 40 hours per week together with a shared 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota.
The practice is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong surgical bias who enjoys managing a varied first opinion caseload. There will be excellent opportunities to develop surgical interests further while working alongside an experienced clinical team. Previous Emergency and Critical Care experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
As a senior member of the clinical team, you’ll also play an important role in supporting and mentoring less experienced Veterinary Surgeons, helping to maintain the high clinical standards and collaborative culture within the practice.
The practice actively encourages case continuity and supports Veterinary Surgeons in developing their own clinical interests, with excellent CPD and certificate funding available.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with strong medical and surgical skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care.
You’ll be a confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team and is keen to help develop junior colleagues.
