The Practice
This well-established, family-run small animal hospital has been delivering exceptional veterinary care since 2012 and has developed into one of the region’s leading 24-hour veterinary hospitals. Alongside a thriving first opinion service, the hospital provides emergency and out-of-hours support to numerous local practices, offering Veterinary Surgeons the opportunity to manage a wide range of interesting and complex cases while maintaining excellent continuity of care.
Following a significant expansion, the hospital has tripled in size, allowing continued investment in both facilities and clinical services while creating additional opportunities for career progression and in-house professional development. The clinical team includes Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses with a wide range of certificate qualifications across multiple disciplines, creating a highly supportive environment where collaboration and knowledge sharing are encouraged.

The Location
Located within easy reach of Leeds and the surrounding West Yorkshire area, the hospital enjoys excellent motorway connections and offers convenient access to both city amenities and beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The Role
Two part-time opportunities are available, offering flexibility depending on your interests and experience.
One role combines consulting, surgery and inpatient care across approximately 21 hours per week, while the second is a consult-only position working approximately 22 hours per week. Both roles include participation in a 1 in 4 weekend rota within a fully supported hospital environment.
Consultations are scheduled for 30 minutes as standard, allowing the time needed to work cases thoroughly and provide exceptional client communication. You’ll have the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload ranging from first opinion consultations through to emergency, hospitalised and referral-level patients, working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.
Veterinary Surgeons with an interest in ophthalmology or dermatology would be particularly welcomed, with opportunities to develop dedicated clinics and further expand these services within the hospital.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working within a collaborative hospital environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
You’ll be confident managing both medical and surgical cases, enjoy working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and be keen to continue developing your clinical knowledge. Whether you’re already studying towards a certificate or considering one in the future, the hospital actively encourages further qualifications and will provide ongoing support for your professional development.
