The Practice
This well-established small animal practice has been caring for pets within the local community for many years and has built an excellent reputation for delivering high standards of veterinary care in a friendly and welcoming environment.
You’ll be joining an experienced team of five Veterinary Surgeons, eight Registered Veterinary Nurses, five Receptionists and three Veterinary Care Assistants who work closely together to provide exceptional care for both patients and clients.
The nursing team plays an integral role within the practice and includes colleagues with Advanced Diplomas, a Certificate in Anaesthesia, Emergency and Critical Care experience and an ISFM Feline Nursing qualification. Their knowledge and expertise allow Veterinary Surgeons to focus on delivering outstanding clinical care while working alongside a highly skilled and supportive team.
The practice understands the importance of providing clinicians with the time they need to do their job well. Consultations are scheduled for 20–30 minutes, while dedicated administration time is built into every working day to help ensure clinical records are completed during working hours and promote an excellent work-life balance.

The Location
Located in Wigan, Greater Manchester, the practice is ideally situated with excellent transport links across the North West, providing easy access to Manchester, Liverpool and the surrounding areas. The Role
This is a flexible role with no fixed rota or predetermined working pattern, allowing the successful candidate to discuss a schedule that suits both their lifestyle and the needs of the practice. Participation in the shared 1 in 5 Saturday rota would be welcomed.
You’ll enjoy a varied first opinion caseload, working across both medicine and surgery while delivering exceptional standards of patient and client care. The practice encourages Veterinary Surgeons to develop their own clinical interests and supports ongoing professional development through a generous CPD allowance and exposure to an interesting and diverse caseload.
The team is looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, communicates well with both clients and colleagues, and is keen to contribute ideas that help continue the practice’s success.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering gold-standard patient care.
