The Practice
This exciting new small animal practice forms part of one of the UK’s largest independent, family-owned veterinary groups and has been purpose-built to provide exceptional first opinion veterinary care within a modern, spacious and welcoming environment.
As one of the founding members of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how the nursing department operates from the outset, helping to establish clinical protocols, working practices and a collaborative team culture where every colleague is encouraged to develop and reach their full potential.

The Location
Located in Feltham, Greater London, the practice enjoys excellent road, rail and public transport links, providing easy access from surrounding areas including Hounslow, Twickenham, Richmond, Staines and Heathrow. The area offers excellent local amenities together with convenient access into Central London.
The Role
This permanent Head Registered Veterinary Nurse position combines hands-on clinical nursing with leadership responsibilities, allowing you to play a key role in developing both the nursing team and the overall success of the practice.
Working an average of 39 hours per week across four 9-hour days, together with a 1 in 4 weekend rota and nurse care nights on rotation, you’ll support the delivery of outstanding patient care while leading the nursing function across the practice.
Typical responsibilities include:
• Leading, supporting and developing the nursing team.
• Delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Overseeing nurse consultations and preventative healthcare clinics.
• Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring.
• Managing inpatient care and maintaining high clinical standards.
• Supporting Schedule 3 procedures and maximising nursing utilisation.
• Mentoring Student Veterinary Nurses and providing clinical coaching.
• Supporting clinical governance and continuous improvement.
• Helping establish clinical protocols and ways of working within the new practice.
• Creating a positive, supportive and collaborative team culture.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced RVN looking to progress into a leadership role where they can genuinely influence the future direction of a growing practice.
About You
• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Previous experience within a busy small animal practice.
• Leadership or senior nursing experience would be advantageous.
• Confident across all aspects of first opinion nursing.
• Passionate about developing colleagues and supporting clinical excellence.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Positive, proactive and adaptable approach.
• Committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care.
