The Practice
This purpose-built small animal practice forms part of one of the UK's largest independent, family-owned veterinary groups and is committed to delivering exceptional clinical care alongside an outstanding client experience. The practice provides a spacious, well-equipped environment where teamwork, professional development and high clinical standards are at the heart of everything they do.
Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your nursing skills while caring for a varied caseload. Many members of the clinical team are working towards postgraduate certificates, creating a culture that actively encourages continuous learning and career progression.

You'll join a supportive team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses and support colleagues who work collaboratively to provide exceptional standards of patient and client care.

Located in Southampton, Hampshire, the practice benefits from excellent transport links and easy access to the city centre, the New Forest and the south coast. The area offers a fantastic mix of coastal living, shopping, restaurants and outdoor leisure opportunities.
The Role
This permanent part-time position offers an excellent opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to enjoy a varied clinical role while maintaining an excellent work-life balance.
Working 21 hours per week across two 9-hour days, together with a 1 in 4 weekend rota and duty nights on rotation, you'll play a key role within the nursing team, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care across all areas of the practice.
Typical responsibilities include:
• Nurse consultations and preventative healthcare clinics.
• Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring.
• Inpatient nursing and patient care.
• Laboratory work and diagnostic support.
• Assisting Veterinary Surgeons during medical and surgical procedures.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records.
• Delivering outstanding patient and client care.
• Working collaboratively with the wider clinical team to maintain excellent clinical standards.
This varied role provides exposure to all aspects of first opinion veterinary nursing within a modern and supportive practice.

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Previous experience within a small animal practice.
• Confident across all aspects of general veterinary nursing.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
