An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy and well-established small animal practice in Somerset. This full-time permanent role offers a varied caseload, a supportive clinical team and excellent development opportunities within a modern practice environment.

The Practice
This modern small animal practice provides a bright and spacious working environment designed to support high-quality patient care and an excellent client experience.
Facilities include:
• Digital diagnostic equipment.
• Dedicated operating theatre.
• Separate dog and cat wards.
• Multiple consultation rooms.
• Comfortable staff and colleague areas.
You will be joining a settled and friendly team where many colleagues have been with the practice for several years. The culture is collaborative and supportive, with strong communication between vets, nurses and the wider support team.
The Location
Located in Somerset, the practice is surrounded by attractive countryside and charming towns while still offering excellent transport links and local amenities. The area provides a fantastic balance of rural living and access to larger regional centres.
The Role
This role would suit a confident Veterinary Surgeon with solid small animal general practice experience who enjoys working within a supportive team and building strong relationships with clients.
Typical responsibilities include:
• Delivering high standards of clinical care during consultations and surgery.
• Diagnosing and treating a wide variety of small animal cases.
• Managing cases from work-up through to treatment plans.
• Working collaboratively with the nursing and support teams.
• Participating in a 1 in 4 weekend rota with occasional sole charge.
Consultations are typically 15 minutes, with additional time scheduled when required to support excellent patient care.
About You
• MRCVS qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
• Confident with routine small animal medicine and surgery.
• Strong communication and client care skills.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Motivated to continue developing clinically.
