Veterinary Nurse Shrewsbury, Shropshire

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established 24-hour veterinary hospital in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. This full-time permanent role offers exposure to a varied and interesting caseload within a highly supportive and experienced clinical team.

Key Highlights

• Salary £30,500 per year.

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.

• 1 in 6 full weekends.

• Bank holiday shift approximately every 18 months.

• 1–2 weeks on-call per year.

• Advanced hospital facilities including CT scanner.

The Role

You will be working within a busy 24-hour hospital environment, carrying out a broad range of nursing duties alongside supporting clinical coaching within the practice.

You will be part of a skilled and experienced nursing team, many of whom are undertaking or have completed certificates in areas such as anaesthesia, analgesia, and medical or surgical nursing.

Facilities Include

• CT scanner.

• Multiparameter monitoring equipment.

• K-Laser therapy.

• Endoscopy equipment.

• Laparoscopic kit.

• Extensive in-house laboratory equipment including Imagyst.

Typical Duties Include

• Nurse-led consultations and Schedule 3 procedures.

• Assisting with surgical and diagnostic procedures.

• Patient monitoring, inpatient care, admissions and discharges.

• Supporting high clinical and regulatory standards.

• Working collaboratively within a supportive hospital team.

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.

• Confident across general hospital nursing duties.

• Passionate about delivering high standards of patient and client care.

• Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
