An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a strong interest in theatre work to step into a dedicated orthopaedic nursing role within a large 24-hour veterinary hospital in East London. This position offers exposure to advanced surgical cases, structured support and clear development pathways.

The Practice

This large 24-hour hospital manages both first-opinion and internal referral cases, offering a broad range of advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue and minimally invasive procedures. Facilities include CT imaging, in-house laboratory services and strong medical and surgical support teams.

The hospital operates with a large multidisciplinary team, including veterinary surgeons, experienced RVNs, student nurses and support staff. A strong nursing leadership structure ensures ongoing development and high clinical standards across departments.

The Role

This theatre-focused position is ideal for an RVN who feels most confident within the surgical environment, particularly assisting with orthopaedic procedures. You will be rota'd alongside the orthopaedic surgeon to support an efficient and streamlined patient journey, and when surgery lists allow, you will support wider theatre operations.

The role includes:

• Assisting with advanced orthopaedic procedures.

• Supporting soft tissue and minimally invasive surgery.

• Maintaining theatre protocols and high clinical standards.

• Collaborating closely with senior theatre nurses and hospital leadership.

This role would suit an RVN with a strong passion for theatre nursing and an interest in orthopaedics. Further training and development will be provided where required.

There may also be opportunity to explore a Theatre Lead position in the future for those interested in stepping into a more senior role.
