• Role: Registered Veterinary Nurse.

• Weekend rota: 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday 08:00–15:00, Sunday 09:00–12:30).

• Salary: £26,000 to £33,000 depending on experience.

The Practice

This RCVS-accredited, well-established practice offers a welcoming and supportive working environment, with a strong team of veterinary surgeons, nurses, assistants and reception staff. The focus is on delivering excellent first-opinion care and building long-term relationships with clients.

Facilities are of a high standard and include:

• Two operating theatres with multi-parameter monitoring.

• Advanced laparoscopic equipment.

• Fully equipped in-house laboratory.

• Ultrasound scanner.

• Digital radiography.

• Dedicated dental x-ray unit.

The Role

This is a full-time position based primarily at the Greenock branch. The role involves working across a varied rota with responsibilities including patient care, theatre support and nursing-led duties.

Duties will include:

• Caring for medical and surgical patients, including post-operative care.

• Assisting veterinary surgeons in theatre and the prep area.

• Pharmacy ordering and stock control.

• Caring for isolation patients.

• Laboratory work and diagnostics.

There is also a strong focus on expanding nurse consultations and developing nurse-led clinics. Personal and professional development is actively encouraged, including support for further qualifications.

The Location

Greenock is a historic town on the River Clyde, offering beautiful coastal views and easy access to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. The area benefits from excellent transport links by road, rail and ferry, with Glasgow approximately 45 minutes away by car.
