• Role: Lead Veterinary Surgeon.

• Contract: Permanent.

• Location: Calne, Wiltshire.

• Hours: 3–4 days per week.

• Weekend rota: 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, no bank holidays, no on-call.

• Salary: Up to £60,000 per year FTE.

The Opportunity

This is an ideal role for a confident Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step into leadership. You'll play a key role in setting clinical standards, mentoring colleagues and driving high-quality patient and client care, while remaining actively involved in day-to-day clinical work.

The position offers genuine autonomy, balanced with strong regional and clinical support, allowing you to develop services and champion best practice.

The Role

• Lead day-to-day clinical practice and uphold high medical and surgical standards.

• Mentor, coach and line-manage RVNs, supporting student training and development.

• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients through clear communication and continuity of care.

• Oversee workflow, case continuity and rota planning alongside the nursing leadership team.

• Contribute to audits, protocols and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon.

• Solid small animal experience with confidence in routine surgery and medicine.

• Proven or emerging leadership skills with a positive, collaborative approach.

• Comfortable managing more complex cases with referral support.

• Certificate holder or working towards a certificate advantageous but not essential.
