The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in emergency and out-of-hours work who values case continuity, autonomy and a structured rota. You'll be responsible for overnight ECC care for the hospital and surrounding practices, supported by a dedicated night nurse and shared clinical systems across sites.

The rota provides an excellent work–life balance while maintaining exposure to a varied and rewarding ECC caseload.

The Hospital

The hospital offers:

• A purpose-built 24-hour facility.

• Digital X-ray, ultrasound and full-body CT scanner.

• In-house laboratory facilities.

• Three large consulting rooms and two theatres.

• Spacious prep areas, learning and office spaces.

• Shared clinical software ensuring full access to patient histories.

The Role

• Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care overnight.

• Manage medical and surgical ECC cases independently.

• Ensure continuity of care through accurate case handovers.

• Work closely with a dedicated night nursing team.

• Maintain high standards of clinical, regulatory and operational compliance.

• Contribute to collaborative working across the wider hospital network.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon.

• Confidence in emergency and out-of-hours case management.

• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.

• Team-focused approach with excellent communication.
