• Working pattern:

  • Monday & Tuesday (9:00am–6:00pm) at Aberdare.

  • Friday (8:30am–6:30pm) at Merthyr Tydfil.

• Weekend rota: 1 in 4 Saturdays.

• Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 pro rata.

The Opportunity

This role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys a combination of surgery and medicine, working alongside an experienced Branch Partner, a supportive veterinary team and nurses who actively undertake Schedule 3 procedures.

You'll benefit from exposure to both a busy ECC-led first opinion practice and a friendly community clinic, offering clinical variety while maintaining excellent continuity of care.

The Practices

Merthyr Tydfil is a busy first opinion practice with a high volume of ECC cases, operating from a spacious, well-equipped building.
Aberdare is a welcoming community practice located in the heart of the Cynon Valley, with a loyal client base and relaxed working atmosphere.

The practices work closely together, supported by VVS ultrasound services when required.

Facilities & Equipment

• Three consulting rooms.

• Dedicated operating theatre.

• Imaging room.

• Ultrasound support via VVS.

• Strong ECC exposure at Merthyr Tydfil.

The Role

• Deliver exceptional clinical care in consults and surgery.

• Manage a varied medical and surgical caseload.

• Work collaboratively with vets, nurses and support teams.

• Maintain high standards of regulatory, clinical and operational compliance.

• Share skills and support wider clinical development across practices.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon.

• Confident in both medicine and surgery.

• Strong communication and client-care skills.

• Team-focused and collaborative approach.

• Comfortable working across two practice environments.
