Key Details

• Role: Veterinary Surgeon.

• Contract: Permanent.

• Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

• Hours: Full time – 40 hours per week over 4 days.

• Weekend rota: 1 in 6 weekends.

• Bank holidays: Shared across the region, typically one shift or fewer per year.

• Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The Opportunity

This role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon looking for variety, flexibility and the opportunity to work within a modern hospital environment. The position can be tailored to suit your clinical interests, allowing you to focus on the areas you enjoy most while maintaining excellent standards of patient and client care.

You'll be supported by a highly experienced nursing team, many of whom are studying towards or already hold certificates in anaesthesia and analgesia, medical nursing and surgical nursing.

Facilities & Clinical Exposure

• CT scanner and MRI.

• Advanced ultrasound (installed 2022).

• Digital and dental radiography.

• Rigid and flexible endoscopy.

• Multiparameter GA monitoring, electrocautery, tonometry and hydrotherapy.

• Fully equipped in-house laboratory including biochemistry, haematology, blood gases, lactate and clotting times.

• Imagyst for rapid specialist cytology and faecal analysis.

The Role

• Deliver high-quality clinical care in consults and surgery.

• Manage a varied and interesting caseload including imaging, medicine, cardiology, surgery and first opinion work.

• Develop tailored treatment plans in partnership with clients.

• Maintain excellent clinical, regulatory and operational standards.

• Work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

• Share skills and support the development of colleagues.
