Key Details

• Role: Head Veterinary Nurse.

• Contract: Permanent.

• Location: Gatley, Stockport, Greater Manchester.

• Hours: Full time – 40 hours per week.

• Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.

• Weekend rota: 1 in 6 weekends at a nearby branch.

• Salary: £37,000 per annum.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an RVN ready to step into a leadership position or an experienced Head Nurse looking for a well-supported, forward-thinking practice. You will play a key role in delivering high standards of patient care, supporting veterinary surgeons and leading the nursing team.

The practice has been fully refurbished, offering a clean, bright working environment with excellent facilities and a strong community feel.

The Role

• Deliver exceptional nursing care across all areas of the practice.

• Lead nurse-led consultations and Schedule 3 procedures.

• Support consults, surgeries and clinical procedures.

• Deliver patient monitoring and inpatient nursing care.

• Manage admissions and discharges.

• Deliver exceptional care and communication to clients.

• Provide clinical leadership, guidance and development to the nursing team.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, practice and operational standards.

What We're Looking For

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.

• Experience in a senior or leadership nursing role, or readiness to step up.

• Strong clinical nursing skills across all areas.

• Confident leader with excellent communication skills.

• Ability to motivate, develop and inspire colleagues.

• Professional, caring and organised approach.
