OOH Veterinary Nurse – Chippenham, Wiltshire (Sundays Only)

A rare opportunity for a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a dedicated Out-of-Hours team in Chippenham, Wiltshire. This Sundays-only position is ideal for an RVN with a passion for ECC who is looking to complement existing work, maintain clinical exposure, or achieve excellent work–life balance while remaining hands-on in emergency care.

Key Details

• Role: Out-of-Hours Registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire.
• Contract: Permanent, part-time.
• Working Pattern: Sundays only.
• Frequency: 26 Sundays per year (approximately 2 in 4).
• Hours: 10:00am to 2:00pm.
• Salary: £2,219.08 per annum, inclusive of holiday pay.

The Role

This position offers the opportunity to work within a structured and well-supported out-of-hours service, managing a varied ECC caseload and utilising your full range of nursing skills. You will work closely with two veterinary surgeons, another RVN and a VCA, ensuring continuity of high-quality emergency care.

The role would suit an RVN who is confident, calm under pressure and enjoys the challenge and reward of emergency and critical care nursing.

Clinical Environment & Location

The role is based within a modern, well-equipped veterinary hospital setting with excellent transport links, located close to the M4 and within easy reach of the train station.

Chippenham offers excellent access to the Cotswolds, as well as Bristol, Bath and Cardiff, with London reachable by train in around an hour. The area provides an ideal balance of countryside, city access and lifestyle flexibility.

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Confidence working within an ECC or hospital environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A calm, organised and professional approach.
• A genuine interest in emergency and out-of-hours nursing.
