Key Details

Role: Veterinary Surgeon.
Location: Mapperley, Nottinghamshire.
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week.
Working Pattern: Four-day week.
Weekend Rota: 1 in 5 weekends (Saturday and Sunday daytime only).
Out of Hours: None.
Contract: Permanent.

The Practice

This is a bright, spacious and modern small animal practice located close to Nottingham city centre and within easy reach of the Peak District. The practice is RCVS-accredited and recognised as a Gold Cat Friendly Clinic, with a strong reputation for clinical standards and client care.

Facilities include digital and dental x-ray, in-house laboratory, laparoscopy equipment, separate wards for dogs, cats and rabbits, and a well-equipped surgical suite. The practice regularly performs laparoscopic spays and advanced procedures, offering excellent case variety.

The Team

You will join a collaborative team of five Veterinary Surgeons with a wide range of experience and clinical interests. Several colleagues hold or are working towards certificates, including surgery, imaging and exotics, with a strong interest in dentistry within the team.

The vets are supported by an experienced nursing team of five RVNs and a knowledgeable front-of-house team of seven receptionists, creating a well-balanced and supportive working environment.

The Role

This is a full-time GP role within a busy, progressive practice. You will be involved in routine consultations, diagnostics and surgery, with the opportunity to work cases up to a high standard.

The role offers exposure to a broad mix of medical and surgical cases, supported by excellent facilities and experienced colleagues. Strong diary management and teamwork allow for high standards of patient care and client communication.

What We’re Looking For

RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
Confident GP vet comfortable with first-opinion practice.
Competent in routine consultations and surgery.
Strong communication and team-working skills.
Interest in developing clinical skills and pursuing CPD.
Commitment to high standards of patient welfare and client care.

Salary & Benefits

Salary £50,000 – £55,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
