• Role: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon.

• Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover.

The Role

This is a full-time maternity cover position working within a well-established small animal team. The role includes a mix of consulting and surgery, with access to modern diagnostic and surgical equipment to support high-quality first-opinion practice.

The working pattern is 40 hours per week over 4.5 days, with a protected lunch break. Saturday mornings and out-of-hours work are shared on a rota, with time off in lieu provided following on-call duties.

The caseload is varied and interesting, consisting primarily of dogs, cats and rabbits, with some exotics also seen. The team works closely with local rescue and wildlife centres, adding further variety to the role.

Clinical Support

You'll be supported by an experienced veterinary team, including internal medicine certificate holders, alongside a highly skilled nursing team with certificates in anaesthesia, exotics and emergency & critical care. Case discussion and collaborative working are actively encouraged.
