  • Role: Farm Veterinary Surgeon.

  • Contract: Permanent.

  • Location: Cornwall.

  • Hours: Full time.

  • On-call rota: Approximately 1 in 10 for most of the year.

The Role

This position is based within a dedicated farm-only team, providing comprehensive veterinary services to a diverse range of agricultural clients. The role covers all aspects of modern farm veterinary work, with opportunities to develop individual clinical interests.

You will work closely with experienced Animal Health Technicians and vet techs, allowing you to focus on clinical and advisory work while minimising routine TB testing commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver progressive farm veterinary services across dairy, beef and sheep farms.

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with farming clients.

  • Provide herd health planning and preventative medicine advice.

  • Participate in client training meetings and industry initiatives.

  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive farm team environment.

Rota & Work–Life Balance

  • Typical working hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm.

  • Half-day off following a night on call.

  • Full day time off in lieu following a weekend on call.

  • Approximately 1 in 10 on-call rota for around 10 months of the year.

  • Generous annual leave allowance to enjoy the local area.

What We're Looking For

  • Experienced Farm Veterinary Surgeon.

  • Confident working across dairy, beef and sheep systems.

  • Interest in progressive and preventative farm vetting.

  • Strong communication and client relationship skills.

  • Team-focused approach with a desire to develop professionally.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary £35,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

  • 6.6 weeks paid holiday including bank holidays, with buy and sell options.

  • £1,750 CPD allowance, with up to £2,500 available for advanced qualifications.

Amazing experience

New Grad Experience

Both Abby and Adam were fantastic, quick to respond and also really took into account what exactly I was looking for.
