This is an 18-month fixed-term maternity cover role offering flexibility around hours, no out-of-hours work and a genuinely supportive team environment. Key Details

Role: Veterinary Surgeon.

Contract: Fixed term (18 months – maternity cover).

Location: Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire.

Hours: Full time or part time (up to 40 hours per week).
-
Working pattern: Monday to Friday shifts between 8am and 7pm.
-
Weekend rota: 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Out of hours: None.

Anticipated start date: March / April 2026.

Purpose-built small animal practice serving Aberdeen and the surrounding area.

Recently refurbished clinical environment.

First-opinion companion animal medical and surgical caseload.

Strong emphasis on client communication, empathy and individualised care.

Local out-of-hours provider used, ensuring continuity without overnight duties.
The Role

First-opinion small animal veterinary role.

Routine consultations and surgery.

Case management with client involvement in decision-making.

Flexible working options to support work–life balance.

Opportunity to develop clinical interests with team support.
The Team

Supportive and collaborative team environment.

Five experienced Veterinary Surgeons.

Six Registered Veterinary Nurses plus additional support staff.

Certificate holder in surgery within the team.

Ongoing support for CPD and certificate development.
