Veterinary Nurse – Old Kent Road, South East London

An excellent opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a warm, well-established small animal practice in Old Kent Road, South East London. Key Details

• Role: Registered Veterinary Nurse (Experienced or Newly Qualified).

• Location: Old Kent Road, South East London.

• Hours: Full time.

• Weekend rota: 1 in 4 Saturdays (9:00am–6:00pm).

• Out of hours: None.

• Contract: Permanent.

The Practice

• Locally owned small animal practice with the backing of a larger veterinary group.

• Purpose-built surgery designed to industry-leading standards.

• Loyal and well-established client base, with approximately 60% insured pets.

• Friendly, collaborative team including vets, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs, CCAs and a dedicated reception team.

• Busy caseload providing excellent exposure across all areas of nursing.

The Role

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across all areas of the practice.

• Perform Schedule 3 procedures in line with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966.

• Support anaesthesia, surgery and post-operative patient care.

• Nurse hospitalised patients, including pain scoring, enrichment and intensive care where required.

• Assist with diagnostics including radiography and laboratory work.

• Triage patients and support veterinary surgeons during busy clinics.

• Dispense medications in line with professional guidelines and maintain accurate clinical records.

• Deliver nurse consultations and provide excellent client communication.

• Contribute to the day-to-day running and continued development of the practice.

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse, or newly qualified and confident to practice.

• Comfortable working across all areas of nursing.

• Strong organisational and communication skills.

• Enthusiastic team player with a high standard of patient and client care.

• Interest in practice development and team engagement welcomed.
