The Opportunity

A busy and well-established 24-hour veterinary hospital in Sutton, Greater London is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its experienced and supportive nursing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN looking to work in a hospital environment with a varied caseload, advanced equipment, and the support of a large multidisciplinary team. You'll be part of a collaborative culture where nurses, vets, and support staff work closely together to deliver exceptional care day and night.

The Role

This is a full-time permanent role, working 40 hours per week with 1 in 4 weekends and on-call duties as part of the rota.

You'll be involved in all aspects of hospital nursing, including surgical support, inpatient care, nurse-led consultations, Schedule 3 procedures, and patient transfers. The role offers excellent clinical development opportunities within a busy, well-equipped setting.

The Practice Environment

The hospital has recently refurbished reception and consultation areas and is fully equipped with:

• Ultrasound and endoscopy

• Laparoscopic equipment

• Digital and dental X-ray

• Comprehensive in-house laboratory

• Orthopaedic equipment

You'll work alongside a large team of experienced veterinary surgeons, RVNs, student nurses, VCAs, and support staff, with strong regional collaboration and case support.

Location

Located in Sutton, Greater London, the practice is just a 10-minute walk from Sutton station, offering direct rail links into London Victoria.

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse

• Experience delivering high standards of patient and client care

• Confident supporting surgeries and procedures

• Comfortable running nurse-led clinics and Schedule 3 activities

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Organised, proactive, and clinically focused

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering exceptional care to patients and clients

• Supporting surgeries and procedures, including pre- and post-operative care

• Running nurse-led consultations and Schedule 3 activities

• Monitoring inpatients and managing admissions and discharges

• Completing patient transfers for out-of-hours or enhanced care

• Dispensing and checking medications

• Maintaining compliance with clinical and regulatory standards

• Supporting team communication and daily workflow

Must Haves

• RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
