Key Details

Role: Veterinary Surgeon (Small Animal, GP).
-
Location: Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.
-
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week.
-
Weekend rota: 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday and Sunday daytime).

Out of hours: None.
-
Sole charge: Some sole charge responsibility required.

Contract: Permanent.
The Practice
-
Friendly, experienced team including vets, RVNs, SVNs, reception and support colleagues.
-
Modern clinical facilities including digital radiography, ultrasound, tonometry, and therapeutic laser equipment.
-
Support for additional interests and further training, including alternative therapies where appropriate.

Varied caseload with a blend of medicine and surgery, including occasional orthopaedics.

Convenient location with quick access to the A1, Cambridge, London rail links, and nearby airport routes.
The Role
-
Deliver high-quality first-opinion consultations and routine surgery.

Work up medical and surgical cases to a good clinical standard, supported by the wider team.

Build strong relationships with clients and maintain excellent patient care.

Contribute to a collaborative culture where clinical interests and development are encouraged.

Support weekend cover as part of the rota (daytime only).
What We’re Looking For
-
RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
-
Strong all-round GP skills across medicine and routine surgery.
-
Comfortable with some sole charge responsibility.
-
A team-first approach with great communication and client care.
-
Keen to develop clinically, with certificate ambition welcomed and supported.
Salary & Benefits

Salary: Up to £70,000 (DOE, FTE).

CPD allowance with support towards certificates.

Holiday: 5.6 weeks initially, rising to 6.6 weeks after 2 years’ service.
