The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established small animal practice based in Langley, Slough.

The practice has a loyal client base and a strong community presence, offering a supportive environment for a nurse who enjoys combining hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities. This role is ideal for an RVN ready to step into a Head Nurse position or an experienced leader looking for a stable, well-supported practice.

The Role

You will remain clinically active while taking responsibility for leading, mentoring and developing the nursing team.

Duties include leading nurse-led consultations and Schedule 3 procedures, supporting consults and surgeries, overseeing inpatient care, and managing admissions and discharges. You'll also play a key role in maintaining high clinical, regulatory and operational standards, while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.

The role operates on a 4-day working week, with 1 in 6 weekends covered at a nearby 24-hour hospital.

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse

• Experience in a senior or leadership nursing role preferred

• Confident leading, mentoring and motivating a nursing team

• Strong clinical skills and high standards of patient care

• Excellent communication and organisational abilities

• Proactive, supportive leadership style

Location

Based in Langley (Slough), Berkshire, the practice is situated close to green open spaces including Langley Park, while benefiting from excellent transport links. The area offers easy access to London, Windsor and Heathrow Airport, providing a strong balance of lifestyle and convenience.
