An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse to step into a sole-charge branch role on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. Key Details

• Role: Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse

• Contract: 12-month fixed term (maternity cover)

• Location: Ash, Surrey

• Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

• Working Pattern: 4 days per week, 8:30am–7:00pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)

• Weekend Rota: 1:4 weekends based at hospital site

• Salary: £35,000 per annum

The Role

• Sole RVN position within a busy community branch

• Responsible for the day-to-day nursing function of the practice

• Varied caseload including nurse consults, procedures and inpatient care

• Typically 1–2 surgical procedures per day

• Close collaboration with veterinary surgeon and reception support

• Supported by a nearby hospital for referrals and complex cases

Clinical Responsibilities

• Nurse consultations

• Patient admissions and discharges

• Anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing

• Inpatient care and post-operative recovery

• Maintaining high clinical and hygiene standards

• Accurate clinical record keeping

• Supporting smooth daily practice operations

Candidate Requirements

• RCVS-registered Registered Veterinary Nurse

• Confident working sole charge

• Comfortable running nurse clinics independently

• Strong anaesthesia and monitoring skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Commitment to high clinical standards and patient care

Practice Environment
