Role: Veterinary Surgeon (Float)

Base Location: Northolt, Middlesex (UB5)

Coverage Area: London (Central, North, South, East and West) and parts of Essex

Hours: Full time or part time (2–5 days per week considered)

Weekend Work: Saturday rota with an average number of Sunday shifts per year

Sundays & Bank Holidays: Worked at nearest 24-hour hospital

Contract: Permanent
The Role
-
Multi-site float veterinary surgeon position supporting rota gaps across practices
-
Shifts allocated in collaboration with a central rota/locum coordination team
-
Weekly rota varies based on business need and accessible locations
-
Opportunity to work across a wide range of environments including hospitals, multi-vet practices and sole-charge clinics

Flexible working patterns available to suit lifestyle and personal commitments
Clinical Responsibilities

Carry out first-opinion GP consultations
-
Perform routine GP surgeries including spays and dentals

Manage cases independently within branch settings

Provide clinical support to teams during staffing gaps

Maintain accurate and thorough clinical records

Refer cases appropriately to hospital facilities when required

Work collaboratively with nursing and support teams
Support & Development

Fully supported by experienced regional managers and regional head vets

Access to hospital facilities and specialist teams for complex cases

Exposure to advanced clinical environments without full-time hospital commitment

Personal development and progression actively encouraged

Salary & Benefits

£50,000 to £80,000 FTE depending on experience

6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata if part time)

Must Haves
- RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
