This role would suit an experienced vet who enjoys working within a supportive team, with scope for development and progression into a senior or mentoring role if desired.

Weekend Rota: 1 in 4 Saturdays
The Practice Environment
-
Well-established small animal practice with multiple sites
-
Large and highly supportive veterinary and nursing team
-
Certificate holders across surgery, dentistry, imaging, cardiology and minimally invasive surgery

Strong RVN and support team including certificate holders in medicine and anaesthesia
-
Purpose-built new main site planned, including future CT facilities
-
Fully equipped across all sites with ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, endoscopy and laparoscopy

Friendly, collaborative culture focused on high clinical standards
The Role
-
Small animal GP role with a varied and busy caseload
-
20-minute consultations as standard
-
Well-managed diary with protected time for emergencies, admin and client communication
-
Mix of consulting and routine surgery
-
Occasional sole charge required
-
Opportunity to step into a more senior or mentoring position for the right candidate

Support for GDP advisory or mentoring responsibilities if desired
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
-
Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care
-
Perform routine surgical procedures confidently
-
Work up cases thoroughly with time for diagnostics and client communication
-
Manage sole charge periods when required
-
Maintain accurate clinical records and case notes
-
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
-
Support and mentor less experienced colleagues where appropriate
-
Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment
About You
-
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
-
Confident with routine consultations and surgery
-
Comfortable working sole charge when required
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Team-focused and supportive approach
-
Interest in mentoring, leadership or senior responsibilities welcomed but not essential
