A great opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse seeking a part-time role within a well-established first opinion practice in Southwest London. This position would suit an RVN who enjoys GP branch life, building strong client relationships and being part of a supportive, close-knit team.

Part Time (2–3 Days per Week) | Permanent | Pro Rata Salary

Key Details

• Role: Registered Veterinary Nurse

• Location: Putney, London (SW15)

• Hours: Part time (2–3 days per week)

• Weekend Rota: 1 in 4 branch Saturdays and 1 in 10 hospital Saturdays

• Bank Holidays: 1 per year

• OOH: None (provided by nearby 24-hour hospital)

• Contract: Permanent

The Practice Environment

• Popular first opinion GP practice in a riverside Southwest London location

• Strong, loyal and largely insured client base

• Small, settled clinical team including senior and associate vets and experienced nursing support

• Support from a dedicated regional management team

• 24-hour hospital support available for OOH and complex cases

The Role

• Part-time nursing role supporting day-to-day branch operations

• 2–3 day weekly rota with opportunity to increase hours locally if desired

• Mix of clinical nursing, client care and operational support

• No on-call responsibilities

• Opportunity to work closely with vets and nursing colleagues in a well-organised GP setting

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients

• Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records

• Ensure high standards of animal comfort, welfare and hygiene

• Prepare, clean, sterilise and maintain equipment

• Monitor and maintain stock levels of drugs, diets and consumables

• Support the induction and training of new staff

• Provide reception and client-facing support when required

• Act as a clinical supervisor for student nurses

• Contribute to a respectful, collaborative team environment

About You

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse

• Confident in a first opinion GP practice environment

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Comfortable supporting both clinical and client-facing duties

• Team-focused with a positive, professional approach

• Interest in developing skills or increasing hours welcomed

Salary & Benefits

• £32,000 to £35,000 FTE depending on experience (pro rata)

• 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata)

• CPD budget plus up to 2 days' paid CPD leave

• Paid 30-minute lunch breaks

Must Haves

• RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
