Key Details

• Role: Night Veterinary Surgeon

• Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands

• Hours: Full time, nights

• Rota: 7 nights on / 7 nights off

• Shift times: 6:15pm – 8:15am

• Consults: 7:00pm – 8:00pm

• Caseload: Predominantly small animal

• Contract: Permanent

The Practice

• Very well-equipped veterinary practice

• Predominantly companion animal caseload (approximately 95%)

• Large, friendly and highly supportive veterinary team

• Strong emphasis on clinical autonomy and independent decision-making

• Busy practice environment with excellent internal support

The Role

• Night-only Veterinary Surgeon position

• Autonomous overnight clinical work with strong backup support

• Small animal experience essential

• Large animal experience welcomed but not required

• Structured rota providing excellent recovery time and work–life balance

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident working independently overnight

• Small animal experience required

• Large animal experience advantageous but optional

• Calm, capable and proactive approach to emergency and out-of-hours work
