Registered Veterinary Nurse | Wanstead, East London

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a large, well-equipped 24-hour small animal hospital in Wanstead, East London. This full-time hospital-based role is ideal for an RVN who enjoys working across multiple departments, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to develop further within a supportive and well-structured clinical team.

Full Time | £32,000 – £35,000 | Permanent

Key Details

• Role: Registered Veterinary Nurse

• Location: Wanstead, East London

• Hours: Full time

• Working Pattern: 40 hours per week over 5 days

• Weekend Rota: 1 in 4 weekends with TOIL

• Bank Holidays: Up to 3 per year

• On-call: Included (last-resort only)

• Contract: Permanent

The Practice

• Large 24-hour small animal hospital

• Provides first-opinion, emergency, critical care and referral services

• Receives a high volume of internal referral cases

• Excellent diagnostic and surgical facilities including CT and advanced imaging

• Strong medical and surgical teams delivering complex procedures in-house

• Highly experienced management and nursing leadership structure

The Role

• Hospital-based RVN role across multiple departments

• Rotation through theatre, wards, consultations and ECC

• Opportunity to build confidence across all areas of hospital nursing

• Support available to develop skills in less familiar departments

• Leadership development available for RVNs aspiring to senior roles

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinary surgeons in theatre, wards and consultations

• Monitoring and caring for hospitalised inpatients

• Providing post-operative discharge instructions and medication guidance

• Maintaining accurate and detailed clinical records

• Acting as weekend Charge Nurse when required

• Ensuring equipment is cleaned, sterilised and stored correctly

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and adherence to SOPs

• Promoting a respectful, collaborative team environment

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse

• Previous experience working in a hospital or busy practice environment

• Confident working across multiple clinical areas

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Interest in ECC or hospital nursing advantageous

Salary & Benefits

• Salary £32,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE)

Must Haves
