Average Hours: 38.4 – 40.4 hours per week

Weekend Rota: 1 in 4 branch Saturdays, 1 in 8 hospital Sundays

Bank Holidays: Up to 2 per year

On-call: Included

Additional Shifts: Approx. 6 short twilight shifts per year

Supported by a nearby flagship 24-hour hospital for OOH and complex referrals

Strong regional management and clinical leadership support
The Role
-
Senior GP veterinary role combining clinical work with leadership responsibilities
-
Leading and supporting the branch veterinary and nursing team
-
Overseeing consulting, surgical and diagnostic diaries
-
Supporting induction of new starters and locum colleagues
-
Ensuring branch meetings are held, actions completed and standards maintained
-
Managing prescription processes in line with policy
-
Delivering high-quality first-opinion consultations and surgery
-
Maintaining accurate clinical records and best-practice standards

Acting as a role model for teamwork, collaboration and clinical excellence
Leadership training is provided to support vets stepping into their first senior role.
What We're Looking For

RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

Confident GP vet with experience in a busy first-opinion environment

Comfortable performing routine surgery and managing emergencies

Strong leadership and communication skills

Organised, proactive and supportive management style

Ready to take ownership of a senior clinical position

Must Haves
- RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
