Veterinary Surgeon | Croydon & New Addington, Surrey

An excellent opportunity for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join a dual-site role in Surrey, working across two well-established branch practices on a structured, consistent rota. This position is ideal for a GP vet who enjoys variety while retaining routine and continuity, and who is comfortable in a sole-charge environment with strong regional and hospital-level support.

Full Time | £60,000 – £75,000 FTE | Permanent

Key Details

• Role: Veterinary Surgeon (Sole Charge)

• Location: Croydon & New Addington, Surrey

• Hours: Full time

• Working Pattern: 3–4 days per week across two branch sites (not same day)

• Weekend Rota: Branch Saturdays plus 1 in 10 Sundays

• Bank Holidays: 1 per year

• Out of Hours: None

• Contract: Permanent

The Practice

• Two established branch practices with distinct client bases

• Consistent weekly rota providing continuity for clients and teams

• Experienced on-site nursing and support colleagues at both locations

• Strong regional management and clinical leadership support

• Access to a nearby 24-hour hospital for referrals and OOH care

• Well-structured systems and clinical protocols in place

The Role

• Sole-charge GP veterinary role across two branch environments

• Providing consistent clinical cover week to week

• Routine consultations and first-opinion surgery

• Managing cases within personal competence and best-practice guidelines

• Maintaining accurate, detailed clinical records

• Timely referral of complex cases to a supporting hospital

• Overseeing branch diaries and supporting clinic SOPs

• Working closely with RVNs to support branch operations and meetings

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident GP vet comfortable with sole-charge work

• Competent in routine consultations and surgery

• Strong organisation and clinical decision-making skills

• Collaborative approach to team working

• Interest in further clinical or leadership development

Salary & Benefits

• Salary £60,000 – £75,000 FTE per annum (DOE)

• 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays

• Generous CPD support with up to £2,000 allowance per year

Must Haves

• RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
